Placement of POSTERS on rotundas DISTRIBUTION OF LITERATURE
LIQUOR PERMITS SIGNAGE Steel signs (main entrance to campus) Following consultation with the Main Roads Department in 2007, it was decided only one metal sign could be erected at any time at the main entrance. Approval for installation must be given by the Landscape Architect 6488 4776. Preference will be given to a) the Perth International Arts Festival Film Season between November and April and b) the University Expo. Signs will be erected south of the pedestrian path as far back from Stirling Highway as possible. There will be a $42 charge by Unigrounds for installation. Banners Banners may be affixed to buildings in GUILD areas with the approval of the Guild Activities Officer 6488 2291. They must be affixed with rope, not adhesive tape or wire, which may damage the buildings. Banners may also be affixed to the REID LIBRARY bridge, for which no approval is required. They must be affixed with rope, not adhesive tape or wire, which may damage the railings. A banner may be affixed to the MUSIC building for specific concerts on the day of the performance. Banners may be installed west of the MAIN ENTRANCE to the campus in the designated location with the permission of the Venues Office 6488 1779. There will be a $42 charge by Unigrounds for installation.
The following guidelines apply :
Posters Any poster may be affixed to an open noticeboard (including those of external organisations). Posters which are offensive, untidy or contrary to University interests, will be removed. Posters on an open noticeboard must be dated and will be removed at the end of each month. Departmental permission is required to fix a poster to a glass-covered noticeboard. Posters for cement rotundas around the campus must be approved by the Guild Activities Officer 6488 2291. Organisations or individuals who fix posters to walls or non-approved areas will be charged for removal costs. DISTRIBUTION OF LITERATURE Literature may not be distributed by hand around the campus, except in Guild areas, at the discretion of the Guild Activities Officer 6488 2291. Pamphlets on windscreens Advertisements or flyers may not be placed under windscreen wipers on vehicles in University car parks. Desks and stalls Desks and stalls may not be erected on campus except within Guild areas with the approval of the Guild Activities Officer 6488 2291. Where a lecture or event is to be held, a desk with literature for sale or distribution, may be placed outside the venue. SALE OF GOODS Goods may not be sold on campus except a) within Guild areas with the permission of the Guild Activities Officer 6488 2291 or b) in association with a lecture or event held on campus. Books, chocolates and other small items may be sold within a department with the approval of the head of department. CONSUMPTION OF FOOD AND DRINK IN VENUES Food and drink may not be consumed in theatres, lecture theatres, lecture rooms or seminar rooms on campus. Liquor Permits Refer to guidelines : http://www.fm.uwa.edu.au/about/policies/consumption_of_liquor_on_campus RAFFLES AND COLLECTIONS Raffles or collections for charity may be conducted on campus at the discretion of the Venues Office 6488 1779. Collections within departments may only be undertaken with the approval of the head of department. Raffles or collections for charity may be conducted in Guild areas with approval from the Guild Activities Officer, 6488 2291. USE OF VENUES AS POLLING PLACE Approval from the Venues Office 6488 1779 is required. USE OF CAR PARKS, VERGES OR INNER CAMPUS GROUNDS FOR EVENTS AFTER HOURS Approval is required from Unipark 6488 3020. Parking PermitsRefer to guidelines :http://www.fm.uwa.edu.au/about/parking/Unipark_Handbook VENDING MACHINESThe University has granted the Guild of Undergraduates sole rights to install drink, food and other vending machines on campus. The Guild must obtain written approval from the University Architect in Facilities Management (6488 2041 : fax 1038) before any machine is installed. Facilities Management will ensure the vending machine is in a suitable location and correctly connected to the power supply. PUBLIC PHONESThe administration of public phones on campus is carried out by the Guild. All public phones have the facility to contact the Security Office on a toll free 1800 number. The Guild must obtain written approval from the University Architect in Facilities Management (6488 2041 : fax 1038) before a new public phone may be installed on campus. Telstra representatives collect the monies from public phones. Faults experienced in the operation of public phones should be reported directly to Telstra. The administration of phones inside buildings, which connect only to internal extensions, is carried out by Information Technology Services (Telephone Exchange 6488 6000).
